Welcome to the home page of Adelphi Friends Meeting, part
of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). Located in Maryland,
just outside Washington, DC, we are a medium-sized, diverse group of Friends
and attenders who meet in unprogrammed worship each Sunday at 10 am.
All are welcome! The Meeting House is wheelchair accessible and has
equipment for the hearing impaired. If you need one, we can provide
a sign language interpreter at the 10 am Meeting for Worship.
During worship, infant care and First Day (Quaker-speak for Sunday) school classes are available for children of all ages. First Day school begins at 10:20 am, except on fourth Sunday when Junior Meeting begins at 10 am. We often sing from about 9:45 am until 10 am. Schedule Adelphi Friends Meeting is a member of Baltimore Yearly Meeting and is affiliated with Friends General Conference and Friends United Meeting. Our Meeting for Worship for the Conduct of Business is Second Sunday each month and begins shortly after meeting for Worship. Chase Clements is currently serving as Clerk of the Meeting. We are involved in many activities including an annual Strawberry Festival the first Saturday in June, emergency housing efforts, and a monthly newsletter. We started and continue to nurture the Friends Community School in nearby College Park, a private school established to foster Quaker values. Takoma Park Preparative Meeting is under our care.
