Adelphi Friends Meeting Membership Records

Adelphi Friends Meeting has recorded 584 memberships since 1956.  The master list, in alphabetical order, lists everyone who has ever been on our membership rolls and the status of their membership.  The report list, sorted by children and adults, (associate and full memberships) represents the names behind the numbers that are reported each year to the Baltimore Yearly Meeting.  As of October 1, 2004 we have 212 adult members and 125 children for a total of 338 members.  See note below regarding Associate Membership for children.

Both memberships lists are password protected to insure the privacy of our members.

To make it easier for various committees of the meeting to determine who might be available for service, the membership has been divided into Associate and Full memberships.  It has further been divided into categories of membership status.

Released describes those who have transferred to somewhere else, resigned, were dropped due to lack of communication with Meeting, or died.

Active designates those who are listed in the Membership Directory and live locally, or we see or hear from them from time-to-time.

Active Not Local is used to describe those who are listed in the Membership Directory, but live out of town.

Inactive Friends - are folks who are not listed in the Directory, but are still on our membership rolls.

Associate Membership at Adelphi is approved by transfer or parental request for children of adult members until they are old enough to decide for themselves whether or not to become full members.  Periodically, Meeting takes a closer look at the aging members in this category and asks the Pastoral Care Committee to contact them regarding their status.
